Egg shaped chairs and pops of color jettison this hotel from the ordinary to the extraordinary. Arne Jacobsen - the famous Danish designer - designed both the exterior and interior of this hotel before his death in 1971.

The description says that this is an exclusive luxury hotel, but I think that might be going too far. I would describe it as an upscale (but not exclusive) hotel right in the heart of Copenhagen. The interior design and architecture of The Royal are what I remember most. If you really want to see what Danish Modern design was supposed to be, try this hotel. The rooms are unusually large for a European hotel, with generous use of teak and sleek modern design, without being cold. The bathroom was large and beautifully done as well.
